Dispensary

One way to get your medical marijuana is to work with a dispensary. These are basically like pharmacies that have various marijuana strains and products that you can buy. You will have to show them the card that you have from your state showing that you are allowed to get medical marijuana, plus you may have to show them your ID as well. The dispensary itself should also have permits from the state saying that they can dispense medical marijuana. The nice thing is that you can talk to the staff at the dispensary and tell them what you are looking for and what you need. They should also be able to answer any questions you may have. 

Caregiver

A caregiver will do basically the same thing as a dispensary but on a much smaller scale. They generally only work with a few patients at a time, how many patients depends on the particular state. They will grow the marijuana, as well as process it, and turn it into various products from edibles to smokables to topicals. Working with a caregiver can mean that you are going to get something that is customized to you and your needs. They can generally come to you, so if you have limited mobility, they can help you. The caregiver may be able to get particular strains just for you because they are going to work more one-on-one with you. 

Grow Your Own

A third option is to grow your own. Depending on your state laws, you may be able to have a certain number of marijuana plants to grow for personal medical marijuana use. In that case, you will be able to exactly the strains that you want and you can then process your harvest so that it becomes exactly what you want and need. There are also a couple of drawbacks to this, one is that you are going to need to have the space, either indoors or outdoors, to grow the plants, and you are going to have to make sure that you have appropriate security for your plants.
